Connect with colleagues
Each article includes an opportunity for you to submit comments, ask questions, and vote on the impact the information presented will have on your practice.
Comment and ask questions
All articles include an opportunity for readers to comment and ask questions. We then close the loop by asking the authors to respond to questions. TCMP is designed to stimulate thoughtful discussion and may address complex or controversial topics, with the focus always returning to practical application for learners. We support a collegial atmosphere and sharing of ideas amongst peers.
The comments section closes 90 days after an article is published.
All comments are pre-moderated. Comments that are inappropriate, offensive, or do not comply with our discussion guidelines will not be approved.
Discussion guidelines:
- Be respectful and courteous, as if you were having a polite face-to-face discussion.
- Stay on point and focus only on the topic of the article.
- Discussion boards are for professional learning and should not be used for individual patient concerns.

Earn credits
You can obtain credits by reading an article and filling out a reflective learning activity online. The learning activity link is at the end of each article.
Credits for family physicians
TCMP reflective learning activities for each article are certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) for 0.25 Mainpro+ Certified credits. UBC CPD will automatically upload the total number of Mainpro+ credits to CFPC on a quarterly basis.
Your National College ID Number is requested due to an arrangement with the CFPC and UBC CPD to provide automatic electronic transfer of continuing education credits to the CFPC. By giving UBC CPD your CFPC ID you give permission to upload credits to CFPC. If you have lost or misplaced your CFPC membership card, please contact the CFPC Membership Department (membership@cfpc.ca or 905.629.0900/1.800.387.6197, extension 250). You also need to have a valid email address on file with the CFPC so that they can email you your confirmation.
Credits for specialist physicians
Once you complete the learning activity you will receive a confirmation email with your responses. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) learners can self-report MOC credits under Individual Learning (Section 2): Educational content review. For inquiries, please contact cpd@royalcollege.ca.
